Moro Rock, one of the scenic highlights of Sequoia National Park, is a granite monolith shaped by millions of years of weathering. An elaborate and intimidating wooden staircase was erected to the top of Moro Rock in 1917. It was replaced in 1931 with a 1/4 mile stone staircase carved into the rock. A 360-degree view from the top encompasses the entire western half of Sequoia National Park.
